This spectacular dance program features traditional folk dances performed by NYCCC students. Audiences will be treated to a variety of regional and folk dances, such as the Mongolian, Uygur, Tibetan, and Tai dances that showcase the rich diversity of China’s different regions. Come experience the richness of Chinese dance and arts & culture in this exciting family show!
POP UP Series
A curated program featuring emerging Asian choreographers and dancers. POP-UP Series is a new program as a result of utilizing quality working space for dancers and choreographers. The Inaugural Season will feature works created by Kevin Ho & Ching-I Chang, Nico Li and the screening of Dolphin Dance Project, a dance film by Chisa Hidaka and Benjamin Harley. Lunar New Year – Lantern Festival
NYCCC is staging traditional dance performances to celebrate Lantern Festival on Feb. 24. Feb 24 happened to be the Lantern Festival in Lunar Calendar which ends the celebration of Chinese New Year.Event info: Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at 4:00pm in Flushing Town Hall. We recently transformed our largest studio into a white-box performance studio with portable sound and marley floor available to dancers and choreographers.
