Founded in 1974, the New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC), a nonprofit cultural and educational institution, is dedicated to deepen the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture in the global community and to preserve the art of Chinese dance. NYCCC fulfills its mission by offering professional classes, workshops and performances while nurturing creative and innovative new works that reflect the rich cultural heritages and the diverse community today. NYCCC's core programs aim to support and present artists of the highest caliber and to provide a vital linkage between communities and across generations.

School of the Arts

The School of the Arts offers a comprehensive curriculum of dance technique, martial arts, arts and crafts, Chinese language and cultural appreciation all year long that open to people of all ages and all backgrounds. The Dance School in the School of Arts, the country's only full time professional school of Chinese dance, is the only dance school to receive the honor of representing the traditional dance curriculum of the Beijing Dance Academy, China's premier national dance institute.


DanceChina NY

DanceChina NY, the resident company of NYCCC, is comprised of award-winning professional dancers and musicians from China and the United States. The Company brings the richness of traditional dance, modern dance, Peking Opera, acrobatic art with live music to audiences. Noted for their powerful grace and contained elegance, DanceChina NY performs regularly throughout the United States for audiences of all ages. Each year, the Company presents over 750 live performances, workshops, master classes, lectures and demonstrations to over 180,000 people of all ages across the country.
