Located in Manhattan's bustling Chinatown, the School of the Arts of the New York Chinese Cultural Center has been a leader in the downtown arts community for over 30 years. Large, mirror-paneled studios house classes in Chinese folk and ancient classical dance, Peking opera and acrobatics. Chinese painting, calligraphy, paper cutting, paper folding, and language round out the curriculum.

The School provides a friendly educational environment for people interested in learning about Chinese Arts and culture. It is the only American institution to receive the honor of representing the dance curriculum of the Beijing Dance Academy, China's premier national dance institute. All classes are grouped according to age and skill leave. Classes are offered on a semester basis from January through June and September through December, plus a summer camp. In addition, special interest workshops and seasonal sessions are frequently added throughout the year. Many of the classes are held by Saturdays and Sundays. Classes at satellite locations can also be arranged.
